What it’s like

Bowling, laser tag and soft play under one roof, with an arcade to mop up whatever cash you've got left.

Three activities, one building, and enough options that a family with a toddler and a ten-year-old can both leave happy. The soft play zone is for kids under 4 foot 7, with a session lasting 90 minutes and no booking needed since it runs first come first served. Bowling has ramps and pop-up lane guards so the little ones aren't lobbing balls into the gutter every go, though they reckon four is the youngest sensible age given the weight of the balls. Laser tag games run 30 minutes and there's a family ticket for four or five people, but it's worth knowing laser tag on Mondays to Thursdays in term time is groups and parties only, so a spontaneous weekday visit for just laser tag won't work.

Prices step up on what they call Fabulous Friday, so a single laser tag game goes from £6.95 to £8.95 and the family deals follow suit. Soft play has an under-1 rate of £1.95 and peak and off-peak pricing for the older bands, plus a toddler morning session at £6.95. If you're going regularly, there's a membership that knocks the monthly cost down for the first child and further for siblings, with a one-off £5 joining fee.

Food comes to you either way. There's an NY Deli in the soft play area doing stone-baked pizzas and sharing platters, and lane service brings food and drinks straight to you while you bowl. Parking's free on site, which takes one thing off the list of things to fret about before you've even walked in.

Parties are the other big draw here, with soft play, bowling and laser tag party packages covering everything from 8 to 20 kids depending on which activity you pick, food and drinks included and arcade card add-ons if you want to sweeten the deal further. Grip socks are compulsory for laser tag and cost £1.50 if you haven't got your own pair, which is a small but easily forgotten extra to factor in.

Plan your visit

How much does it cost?

Soft play runs from £1.95 for under-1s up to £9.50 at peak times for over-4s. Bowling is £7.50 a game for adults and £6.95 for under-16s, students and over-60s, with family tickets for four or five people. Laser tag is £6.95 a game, rising to £8.95 on Fabulous Friday.

Do we need to book?

Booking's recommended across the board, though walk-ins are fine if it's not sold out. Soft play doesn't need booking at all, it just runs on 90-minute sessions as people arrive.

Is soft play OK for a toddler?

Yes, there's an under-1 rate and a toddler morning session priced at £6.95. The whole soft play area is designed for kids under 4 foot 7.

What age can kids start bowling?

They suggest four as the practical minimum, mostly down to how heavy the bowling balls are for smaller hands. Ramps and pop-up lane guards help younger kids actually hit something.

Is laser tag available every day?

Not quite. Monday to Thursday in term time it's groups and private parties only, so if you fancy a casual game midweek during school time you'll need to check the days it opens to the public instead.

What do laser tag games involve?

Each game lasts 30 minutes. There's a single game price, a two-game price, and family tickets covering four or five people with a maximum of two adults.

What about food?

The NY Deli in the soft play area does stone-baked pizzas and sharing platters, and if you're bowling, food and drinks get brought straight to your lane.

Is there parking?

Free parking on site.

Do we need grip socks for laser tag?

You do, and if you haven't got your own pair from a previous visit they're £1.50 to buy.

Can we book a birthday party?

Soft play, bowling and laser tag all have party packages, with minimum group sizes ranging from 8 to 20 depending on the activity. Food and drinks are included, and you can add an arcade card on top.

Is it worth getting a soft play membership?

If you're going often, it works out cheaper: £18 a month for the first child, £14 for a second, £12 for each additional child after that, plus a one-off £5 joining fee.

How long do sessions last?

Soft play and bowling parties both run for 90 minutes, while a laser tag game is 30 minutes.
