What it’s like

An over-18s pottery studio where you shape animal sculptures, throw on the wheel or hand build, then glaze it all later.

This one's for the adults. There's no under-18s here, so leave the kids with someone else and treat it as your own hour or two of quiet concentration. The main draw is the animal sculpting class at £50, where you shape a creature from clay with proper guidance rather than just guessing. If wheel work or hand building appeals more, those classes run too, and once your piece has dried there's a £15 glazing session to go back and finish it off in colour.

£50 for the sculpting class is a decent chunk for an afternoon, so it's worth going in knowing you're paying for a proper taught session, not just clay and a table. The studio's open most weekdays and Saturdays, though Wednesday is a short half day, finishing at 12:30pm rather than 4pm like the rest of the week. Everything's seated on stools, which is fine for an hour but worth knowing if you fancy something with more back support.

Parking's free on site, so that's one less thing to think about before you get your hands dirty. Go with a friend or on your own, it works either way, since the classes seem built around individual concentration rather than a big group event.
