The Craft House, Bingley
WHERE
Bingley
What it’s like
Sit down and paint your own pottery, then grab lunch in the café afterwards.
This is a proper sit-down-and-paint session rather than a quick craft table. You pick a piece, get stuck into a hands-on workshop, and the finished thing is yours to take home once it's fired. It's a slower sort of activity, so don't plan it as a stopgap between other things, it's the whole outing.
There's a café on site doing brunch, lunch, coffee and cakes, with mains running £7 to £13.50 and a kids' menu from £1.50 to £4.50. That's handy if your painting session runs long or the kids get restless halfway through a mug design and need feeding before they'll finish it. Vegetarian options are on the menu too.
Opening hours are Monday to Saturday 9am to 4.30pm, Sunday a bit shorter at 10am to 3.30pm. The place is wheelchair accessible and dogs are welcome, which is a nice touch if you're combining it with a walk.
There's no booking link listed, so it's worth just turning up or ringing ahead if you want to be sure of a spot, especially on a Saturday.
