What it’s like
Pick a pot, slap on the paints and settle in for two hours at a table that doubles as your café spot in Haworth.
You choose a pot, from small trinket dishes at £10 up to the big £45 pieces, and you get a table booked out for two hours to paint it. That same table is where you eat and drink too, so there's no faffing about moving between a craft area and a café, it's all one booking. Specialist paints and equipment are provided, and once you're done they glaze and fire it for you.
It suits genuinely anyone, from a toddler doing handprints on a plate to grandparents having a go, since the site is clear painting runs from age 0 to 99. That said, if you've got a buggy, pushchair space at the tables is limited, though there's somewhere to store it while you paint. Dogs are welcome too, with spaces kept aside for them, but they'd like you to mention it when you book so they can seat you in the right spot.
The catch is the wait for your finished piece: up to 14 days to be ready, plus another 2-3 days if you want it posted rather than collected. That's fine if you're not in a rush, less fine if you wanted a same-day birthday keepsake. Bookings can be made online up to the day before, or by phone on the day itself, and last painting reservations go in no later than 2.30pm even though the place stays open until 5.
Food-wise there's a proper menu beyond just cakes and drinks, with gluten-free, dairy-free and plant-based options covered, and allergies catered for generally. They also run monthly painting evenings with pasta thrown in, which is a nice excuse for the grown-ups to make a night of it once the kids' pots are done.

Plan your visit
How much does it cost?
Pots range from £10 to £45 depending on size, and that covers the paints, equipment, glazing and firing.
Do we need to book?
Advanced bookings go through the website up to the day before. If it's the same day, ring them on 01535 958961 instead.
How long do we get at the table?
Two hours, and that same table is where you eat, paint and drink, so there's no separate booking needed for the pottery bit.
Is it suitable for a toddler?
Painting starts from age 0, so babies and toddlers are welcome, though pushchair space at the tables is limited and there's storage for prams instead.
How long until the pottery's ready?
Up to 14 days. Add another 2-3 days if you want it posted rather than picked up.
Can we bring the dog?
Yes, there are dog-friendly spaces in the café, but mention it when you book so they can put you in the right area.
What time do you close and can we turn up late?
They're open 8:45am to 5pm daily, but the last painting reservation is 2:30pm even though the doors stay open later.
