What it’s like

A sensory room, an aerial runway and outdoor accessible play equipment at a playground built around inclusive, disability-friendly play.

The sensory room is the thing to book first here, half-hour sessions at £10 with the lights and textures set up for kids who need that kind of calm, focused space. Outside there's an aerial runway to have a go on, and the outdoor areas are built with accessible equipment so wheelchair users and kids with additional needs aren't stuck watching from the sidelines.

Indoors, the playrooms are stocked with the sort of open-ended stuff that keeps kids busy without much prompting: train sets, building blocks, action figures, puzzles and sensory toys scattered about for whoever fancies what. The Gold Annexe is set aside for creative and imaginative play, and there are woodwork sessions too if your child likes making things with their hands rather than just playing with them.

Because the sensory room runs on booked half-hour slots, you can't just turn up and expect a space. It's worth planning around that session time rather than treating it as a drop-in extra. The rest of the playground, the indoor rooms and the outdoor space, feels built for a slower, more exploratory visit than a typical soft play dash.
