What it’s like

Baby and toddler sensory classes with lights, scarves and maracas, split by age from six weeks to three years.

This is a run of sensory classes for the very young, split tightly by age and stage rather than one session for everyone. Zen Lunas takes newborns from six weeks to four months, Tiny Luna covers non-crawlers up to six months, Little Luna is for the pre-walking six to fifteen month bracket, and Luna Tots picks up walking toddlers up to 36 months. There's also a monthly Luna Daddy and Me session for the four month to pre-walking group. Inside, expect swirling sensory scarves, maracas to shake and lights to track, the kind of gentle, repetitive stuff that actually holds a baby's attention.

Because the age bands are so specific, this suits families who want a class matched closely to what their child can actually do, rather than a mixed toddler free-for-all. Term time classes run as block bookings, which is a bit of a commitment if you are not sure your Tuesday mornings are free for weeks on end, though single one-off classes do pop up through the year for anyone who wants to try before committing.

The sibling rule is worth knowing before you book: Tiny and Little Luna sessions are for the booked child and their adult only, and even in Luna Tots a younger sibling under 12 months has to stay in a pram or carrier throughout. There's free on-road parking nearby on Firgrove Road and School Lane, and baby change is on site. If you fancy a party instead of a class, there are three formats to pick from, running from a quick 30-minute Luna Disco up to a full hour Luna Deluxe.
