What it’s like

Small-scale role play rooms, from a pirate ship to a pretend vets and supermarket, built for under-sevens.

This is all pretend play, no big frames or slides. Your child can steer the pirate ship, do the weekly shop in the mini supermarket, play vet with the toys, or potter about in the home corner and jungle room. There's a dressing up area for anyone who wants to be someone else entirely, plus ride on toys and a separate spot for babies who aren't up to the rest of it yet.

It suits the younger end best, roughly babies up to about seven, and it's the sort of place where a three-year-old could happily disappear into the vets corner for the whole visit while you drink a coffee on the bench outside. Socks are compulsory for everyone, adults included, and if you forget they'll sell you a pair for £1, so it's easier to just remember.

Bookings are capped at six people, which keeps it from feeling crowded but is worth knowing if you're planning a bigger meet-up. There's a café doing hot and cold drinks, homemade lunches like toasties and paninis, and children's picnic boxes, with allergy options too. Buggy storage is limited and tucked under the stairs on the ground floor since the play area itself is up on the first floor, and it's left at your own risk, so if you can leave the buggy at home, do.

Birthday parties get 90 minutes of exclusive use with food, squash, invitations and banners sorted for you, and a host to handle the clean-up. Prices depend on whether you catering and whether you go peak or off-peak, but either way the deposit and balance are non-refundable once paid, same as regular play session tickets.
