What it’s like
Electric go-karting on a multi-level indoor track, with a Mini Racer option for younger kids and free spectating from the bar.
This is proper racing, not the bumper-car version. Kids from 8 who are at least 1.2 metres tall and have a 25 inch inside leg can get suited up in a race suit and helmet and take on the multi-level track in electric karts. Younger ones aren't left out entirely, there's a Mini Racers session for ages 4 to 7 between 1.0m and 1.4m, and there are family sessions where adults and children race together (though adults can't race solo on those slots, only alongside a child).
The balaclava rule is a small faff worth knowing before you go: you need one under the helmet, and if you don't own one you'll be buying a reusable cotton version for £3.99 on arrival. Worth packing your own if you've got one already. Bookings are pre-paid and non-refundable, so it's not a plan you can change your mind about the morning of, and you'll want to book ahead anyway since track space is limited per session.
If you're not racing, spectating is free and needs no booking, so grandparents or a nervous parent can just turn up and watch from the bar area while the kids do the actual driving. There's a kitchen and bar on site doing hot food, soft drinks and alcoholic ones too, with vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal options, but outside food isn't allowed in, so eat there or eat before.
Birthday parties are on offer too, with catering packages and a podium experience for the winner, which is a nice touch if you've got a racing-mad kid turning eight. Parking's free on site, and there's a ground-floor wheelchair-accessible spectator area, though the bar itself isn't accessible.

Plan your visit
How old do kids need to be to race?
Eight, with a minimum inside leg measurement of 25 inches and a height of 1.2 metres. Younger kids aged 4 to 7 can do the Mini Racers experience instead, if they're between 1.0m and 1.4m tall.
Do we need to book in advance?
Booking is essential for racing since each session has limited space, and you pay in full at the time of booking. Spectating doesn't need a booking at all.
Can adults and kids race together?
There are family sessions where adults race alongside a child. Adults can't race solo on these slots, only if they've got a child racing with them.
Is there parking?
Free parking on site, including disabled parking bays.
Can we bring our own food?
No outside food is allowed in. There's a bar and kitchen on site with vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal options.
What do kids wear to race?
You'll be given a race suit and helmet, but you also need a balaclava underneath. If you don't have one, they sell a reusable cotton one for £3.99 on arrival.
Is it wheelchair accessible?
Partially. There's a ground-floor accessible spectator area with track views, and disabled parking on site, but the bar itself isn't accessible.
Can I get my money back if we can't make it?
Bookings are non-refundable and can't be changed or transferred to another date, so it pays to be sure of your slot before you pay.
