What it’s like
Dance classes, summer workshops and themed birthday parties for kids aged 4 to 18 at a Derby studio.
This is a dance studio built around classes and themed workshops rather than one-off drop-in sessions, so it suits a child who's already keen on dance or wants to try it properly rather than one who fancies twenty minutes of jumping about. Regular classes run for ages 4 to 18, and the summer workshops lean into whatever's popular that year, from a Girly Pop Takeover to a West End Experience, a Flip Factory and an MJ Experience. Younger ones get their own Little Stars Workshops, with Disney Dreams and a K-Pop Demon Hunters session among them, which is a nice way to ease a four or five-year-old in without throwing them into a class built for teenagers.
Birthday parties are the other big draw, and they're pre-designed rather than pick-your-own, with an entertainer running games, prizes, props, disco lights and bubbles, and a birthday gift thrown in. That takes the planning off your hands, which is either exactly what you want or slightly less flexible if you had your own theme in mind.
The studio's open long hours in the week, 10am to 9pm Monday to Friday, and 9am to 6pm on Saturdays. There's parking on site and a changing places facility, which matters if you're bringing a child with more complex needs.
