What it’s like
Olympic-sized ice rink, two pools and a soft play area under one roof, with free swimming for Lambeth kids under 11.
This is the sort of place you could lose a whole Saturday to. There's an Olympic-sized ice rink for skating, two swimming pools, a soft play area with slides and tunnels for the smaller ones, and sports halls doing badminton, football, basketball, netball and volleyball. If you've got kids who want to do three different things in one visit, this is one of the few spots that'll actually let them.
The best bit of news is the price. Under 11s who live in Lambeth swim free at general sessions, though you do need to book ahead and bring proof of ID, which is a bit of a faff for a "free" thing but worth doing. Non-members pay £3.10 for a junior swim if you're 12 to 15, and adults are £6.90. There's also a Family Splash and Float session running at £6.90 for an adult and £4.20 for a child, which is worth knowing about if you want a more relaxed pool visit rather than a general session.
Ice skating and the soft play area don't have separate prices listed here, so it's worth having the gym and class prices as your steer: gym entry for a junior non-member is £4.65, and adults pay £13.55. Fitness classes run £10.90 for 40 minutes or £16.25 for the full hour, with a 15% discount if you're over 60. If anyone in your group swims regularly, non-swimmers and under 8s need a competent adult swimmer with them in the water, so factor that into who's getting in the pool.
Opening hours are generous, 6am to 10pm on weekdays and 7am to 7pm at weekends. The place is step-free with accessible toilets and blue badge parking, though the pool hoist and car park lift are both out of action for maintenance at the moment, which is worth knowing if either matters to you. There's a café on site for when the ice skating has wiped everyone out.
