What it’s like
Weekly singing, dancing and acting classes for ages 2 to 18, plus themed birthday parties with a bit of drama thrown in.
Term time here means proper weekly classes split by age, with Early Stages taking the youngest performers and Main Stages for the older ones. Early Stages runs 90 minutes a week, 30 minutes each for singing, dancing and acting, while Main Stages stretches to three hours with a full hour on each discipline and a break built in between the second and third class. Classes don't run during school hours, with most schools doing weekend mornings or afternoons instead, and there's no break over half term, which is worth knowing if you were banking on one.
You can try before you commit. A two week trial costs a deposit, £25 for Early Stages and £50 for Main Stages, and that money comes off your term fees if you decide to stay on. After that a full 12 week term is £180 for Early Stages and £360 for Main Stages, which is a proper commitment rather than a casual after-school hobby, and you can usually split the remaining balance into one or two payments.
Birthday parties are the other side of what they do. Themed parties for younger children run two hours with costumes and entertainment built in, and can take up to 15 children with one host or up to 30 if you add extra staff. Older kids get murder mystery parties instead, two and a half hours of detective work with one entertainer running the show, capped at 15 children. Parents are asked to keep to one or two adults in the room during the party itself, though everyone gets invited in for the last 10 minutes to watch the children show off what they've learned.
Parties can run from the usual Stagecoach school bases or come to your home or another venue, as long as you can clear a space roughly 7 by 7 metres.
