What it’s like

A converted arts venue with a garden for picnics and games, plus hall space for birthday parties up to 500 guests.

The garden's the bit worth knowing about here. In summer, kids can have a picnic outside, run about with games, and catch live performances or a market event happening on the same day. It's not a soft play or a fixed attraction, more a green space that gets used properly when the weather allows, which makes it a nice change if you're after somewhere that isn't wall to wall equipment.

Indoors, the hall spaces are flexible and get used for birthday parties, with room for up to 500 people if you're planning something bigger than the usual living room affair. There's music equipment on hand too, so entertainment doesn't have to be an afterthought. Catering comes through the on site Wild Earth Cafe Bar, which does plant-based and local dishes alongside a children's menu, or you can arrange your own outside caterer if you fancy something different.

It's dog friendly, which is a nice touch if you're bringing the family pet along to the garden bit, and there's fresh water and treats for dogs at the café. Baby change and high chairs are there too, so it's set up reasonably well for a visit with younger children even outside of party bookings.

There's no fixed programme of kids' activities as such, it leans more on what's booked in on the day, whether that's a party, a market or live music. Worth thinking of it as a venue that flexes to what you want rather than one with a set list of things to do.
