What it’s like
Indoor tennis coaching in a three-court dome for kids from age 4, plus holiday camps running all week.
Tennis is the thing to know about here. There's an indoor dome with three courts, so rain doesn't wipe out a lesson the way it does on outdoor courts elsewhere. Coaching starts from age 4, which is young for tennis, and it means you can get a racket in a small hand well before school-age sport usually kicks in.
If you're after more than a weekly lesson, the holiday camps run 10am to 3pm, Monday to Friday, so it's a proper full day rather than an hour here and there. That's a decent stretch for a child who's just started out, and worth knowing if you're trying to fill a week off school without juggling pickups.
You don't need to be a student or staff member to use the place, which isn't always obvious with sites attached to a university or college campus. Parking is free on site for anyone using the facilities, monitored by cameras rather than a ticket machine. There's a changing places facility and lockers too, which matters if you're travelling with kit or need the extra space.
Opening hours stretch properly into the evening on weekdays, from 7am to 10pm, and a slightly later 8:45am start at weekends. That's a wide window if you're trying to fit tennis around a work day or a lazy Sunday morning.
