What it’s like
Gigs and live music near the Arena, with most events open to 14+ and some strictly 18+.
This is a gig venue that only really comes alive around its events calendar, tied in with what's on at the Arena next door. There's no wandering in on a random Tuesday for a pint, from what they say the doors open on the times printed on your ticket, so that's the one to check before you set off.
Most gigs are 14+, but keep an eye on the listing itself because some are strictly 18+ and they'll say so on the ticket. Tickets are mostly sold through Ticketek in advance, and if a show isn't sold out you can sometimes buy on the door, though the venue itself doesn't sell tickets directly, staff are just there to help on the night.
Access is properly thought through here. There's a step-free entrance, a disabled toilet on the ground floor, a back-of-house lift with notice, and seating available on request if you email or call ahead. Access Card holders can get a 2-for-1 companion ticket, and there's a route for arranging one by email if you need it.
Getting there without a car is easy enough, it's a five-minute walk from the Lace Market tram stop with trams running roughly every seven minutes until midnight, and the train station and both bus stations are a short walk or tram ride away. If you are driving, NCP Stoney Street is the nearest car park.
