What it’s like

A big Nottingham arena that hosts touring family shows, ice hockey and concerts, right by the Lace Market tram stop.

This is a proper big-venue night out rather than a soft play or a farm visit. What your kids actually do here depends entirely on what's booked in, whether that's a touring ice show, a Nottingham Panthers ice hockey match, or a concert or comedy night, so the show itself sets the tone and the age suitability far more than the building does.

What the venue does give you is easy access once you're through the door. There's step-free access and lifts to all floors, accessible seating, a hearing loop and a Changing Places toilet, so if you've got a child using a wheelchair or a buggy you're not fighting stairs to get to your seats.

Food-wise there are several options inside: a checkout-free bar, a self-serve beer bar, a burger bar, themed bars and street food stalls, plus a daytime bar. It's the sort of arena catering you'd expect, useful for grabbing something between doors opening and the show starting rather than a sit-down meal.

Getting there is straightforward without a car. The Lace Market tram stop is about five minutes on foot, Nottingham train station is a short walk, tram or taxi away, and both Broadmarsh and Victoria bus stations are around ten minutes' walk.
