What it’s like

A riverside arts venue near Hammersmith Broadway with cinema screens, live shows and a parent-and-baby film slot.

This is a proper working arts building, screens for films, spaces for live performance, a bakery and a bar and kitchen, all on the doorstep of Hammersmith Broadway. The cinema is the easiest thing to plan around if you've got young kids: there are dedicated Parent & Baby screenings at £8, and the site's "babes in arms" policy means anyone aged 24 months or under gets in free to sit on your lap, no ticket needed. That's a decent bit of flexibility most cinemas don't bother with.

Full price cinema tickets are £13, dropping to £11 for concessions and £9 if you're under 25 or a member. Book online or by phone and there's a £2 per ticket fee, so buying in person at the box office saves you that if you're passing anyway. Box office is open 10am to 7.30pm daily, and reception runs from 9am right up to 11pm, so it's not just an evening venue.

Food-wise there's a Bar & Kitchen with proper restaurant seating, a bakery open mornings into the afternoon, and snacks at the Cinema Bar if you just want something to nibble during a film. Kitchen orders stop at 9pm even though the bar stays open later, worth bearing in mind if you're planning a late dinner around a show.

Parking is the one to watch. It's pay and display on Queen Caroline Street and Crisp Road, capped at two hours with no way to extend, which is tight if you're combining a film with food and a wander. Public transport is the better bet given the location right at the roundabout. The building itself is step-free throughout with lifts, ramps and accessible toilets on every floor, and there's storage for mobility aids if you need it.

Plan your visit

How much are cinema tickets?

£13 full price, £11 concessions for over 60s, students, NHS workers and access patrons, £9 if you're under 25 or a Dive In member, and £8 for Silver Screen or Parent & Baby screenings.

Is there anything for babies?

Parent & Baby screenings are £8 and everyone in your group needs a baby under 24 months with them. Outside of those, the babes in arms policy lets under-2s in free on a lap for suitable performances.

Do we need to book?

Booking online or by phone adds £2 a ticket, so turning up to the box office in person avoids that fee if your plans allow it.

Is there parking?

Pay and display on Queen Caroline Street and Crisp Road, but it's capped at two hours with no extensions, so public transport is the more relaxed option.

Can we bring an assistance dog?

Yes, guide dogs and other assistance dogs are welcome as long as they're professionally trained, kept on a lead at all times and wearing a harness or jacket that identifies them. They ask for 48 hours notice before you visit.

Is it wheelchair accessible?

Step-free access throughout via ramps and lifts, accessible toilets on every floor, and storage for mobility aids. Access seating can be booked directly with the box office.

What about food?

There's a Bar & Kitchen with restaurant seating, a bakery open mornings, and snacks at the Cinema Bar. Kitchen food orders stop at 9pm even though the bar runs until 11pm.

Is there a cloakroom?

At the box office for £1 per item.

What if we're running late?

Latecomers may not be let in and there's no re-admission if you step out mid-performance, so it's worth building in time to arrive properly.
