What it’s like
A community hall running baby ballet, drama classes and dance shows, with social dances for the adults too.
This is a hall that earns its keep. Baby Ballet classes take the 18 months to 4 crowd, tutus and all, while the Just for Fun Theatre Group runs drama classes for older children who fancy a bit of stage time. If your child's in either, the Stage Kidz shows are where they get to perform in front of an actual audience, which is the bit they'll go on about afterwards.
It's not just a kids' venue. The hall also hosts social dances and Ceroc nights, so it swaps between toddler tights and adult dance shoes depending on the day. Admission for the social dances is £7, while Ceroc and some other events run at £10.
There's food on site and the building is wheelchair accessible, which covers the basics if you're coming with a buggy or need step-free access. It's a straightforward, no-frills sort of hall rather than a big theatre production, and that suits classes and community shows just fine.
