What it’s like
Two hours with air-drying clay to build your own plant pot character, then give it a botanical hairstyle.
You're not painting ready-made mugs here. Tasha guides you step by step through building a "pot head" character from scratch using air-drying clay, and the finish is a plant sitting on top like a bit of green hair. There's an ice-breaker warm up to get everyone talking before the actual making starts, which is a nice touch if you've got a group who don't all know each other.
Sessions run two hours, either at the Bristol studio or on Saturdays at The Coronation pub in Southville, split into a 12 to 2 and a 3 to 5 slot. A workshop is £32, which feels steep for a single pot until you factor in that it's two hours of proper guided tuition rather than a quick paint-and-go. No experience is needed and first-timers are apparently the norm, so nobody's going to feel out of their depth.
This one's for eight and up rather than a toddler activity, which makes sense once you picture a room full of air-drying clay and someone trying to keep a three-year-old's hands off it. It suits an older kid who wants to make something properly rather than just decorate a template, and it'd work well as a slightly different birthday do, with parties bookable at the studio, at the pub, or with Tasha travelling to a venue of your choice. There's also a Pot Head Party Pack for £75 if you'd rather do it at home with a video workshop.
Party bookings at the venue start from £240 as a minimum, so this sits more in the treat-yourself bracket than a regular Saturday filler. Charity and NHS discounts are available if that applies to you, which is worth asking about when you book.
