What it’s like
A farm day of bottle-fed lambs, tractor rides and a bouncing pillow, with a beach and an indoor barn for backup.
The animals are the point here. You wander the farmyard trail finding goats, rabbits, ponies and donkeys in their paddocks, and there are hands-on sessions with chicks and guinea pigs alongside them. In spring you can bottle feed the lambs, and come September there's a potato and carrot dig, so what's actually running depends a fair bit on when you go.
Beyond the animals there's a tractor trailer ride, an adventure playground with bouncing pillows and crazy golf, and a Fairy and Troll Trail with sensory bits built in for the smaller ones. The Beach adds sandcastle competitions and, oddly, beach yoga, though that one's only open March to October. School holidays bring twice-daily shows, dinosaur acts and pantomimes among them, which is a decent way to fill a wet-looking afternoon since there's an Indoor Playbarn too, running February Half Term through to October Half Term.
Hours shift with the season: 10.30am to 5.30pm on Mondays and Fridays in term time, 10am to 5.30pm at weekends and holidays, and last entry is an hour before closing either way. You don't have to book, though they'd rather you did for special events when it gets busy. Parking's free and there's plenty of it, which is one less thing to grumble about, but there's no bus route out here so you'll need a car or a taxi, and dogs have to stay at home given how many animals are on site.
Food-wise, The Trough Café and Piggy Pizza Parlour run all year with sourdough pizzas and jacket potatoes, and the Ice Cream Parlour and Beach Café open up at weekends and holidays. Between the farmyard trail and the playground bits, you're looking at a good few hours out, more if a show's on.

Plan your visit
How much does it cost?
Prices aren't something we've got to hand here, so best to check what's on for the day you're planning.
Do we need to book ahead?
Not usually, you can walk in. They do advise booking for busy special events though.
What are the opening hours?
10.30am to 5.30pm Monday and Friday in term time, 10am to 5.30pm at weekends and school holidays. Last entry is an hour before closing.
Is there parking?
Free parking on site for cars, coaches and buses. There's no bus route to the farm itself, so you're driving or getting a taxi.
Can we bring the dog?
No, dogs aren't allowed anywhere on site because of the number of farm animals about.
What if it rains?
If it rains solidly for 90 minutes or more during opening hours, anyone with a pre-bought online ticket gets a free like-for-like return visit. There's also the Indoor Playbarn to duck into, open February Half Term to October Half Term.
Is the Beach always open?
It only runs March to October, so it's a seasonal extra rather than a year-round bit.
What's there to eat?
The Trough Café and Piggy Pizza Parlour serve hot food like sourdough pizzas and jacket potatoes year-round. The Ice Cream Parlour and Beach Café only open at weekends and school holidays.
Are there shows to watch?
During school holidays there are shows twice a day, including dinosaur shows, circus acts, magic and pantomimes.
Can we bottle feed the lambs?
Only in spring, when it's seasonal. Outside that you'll still get the chicks and guinea pigs to handle.
Do you do birthday parties?
Birthday parties are something they offer on site.
Is it suitable for group or school visits?
They do school visits and group bookings, and can arrange a free familiarisation visit if you need to do your own risk assessment first.
