What it’s like

A mix of animals, rides and play areas, with alpacas, wallabies and pythons to spot between goes on the rides.

You wander between paddocks and pens here, working your way past horses, goats, rheas, wallabies and alpacas, with the python tank thrown in for anyone who fancies a shudder. There are rides dotted through the park too, and play areas for when the animals have had enough attention. It's the sort of place where you plan to nip round quickly and end up staying most of the afternoon.

If you've got a smaller child, the height rules on the rides are worth knowing before you get there. Anyone under a metre needs someone with them who's over 1.2 metres, so a solo toddler on a ride isn't happening without a taller companion in tow. Weekends and school holidays bring a live show at 2pm, which is as good a time as any to plan lunch around.

The park runs from late March to early November, and opens at 10am daily until 5pm, though they'll shut early if the weather turns properly nasty. Parking is free and stays open until half five, so you're not clock watching on the way back to the car. For food there's the Safari Shack Café doing baguettes and children's Maxi Meals, plus a coffee shack and an ice cream parlour if the day calls for a treat on the way out.

Half price return tickets are on offer too, which is a nice touch if the first visit goes down well and you fancy coming back before the season ends.

Plan your visit

What animals will we see?

Horses, pythons, goats, rheas, wallabies and alpacas are all listed among the animals at the park.

Is there a height limit for the rides?

Riders under a metre tall need someone over 1.2 metres with them. Worth checking who in your group counts as tall enough before you queue.

When is the live show?

2pm on weekends and during school holidays.

Do we need to book?

There's no booking link listed, so it looks like a turn up and pay on the day sort of place.

What's there to eat?

The Safari Shack Café does baguettes, sandwiches, salads and children's Maxi Meals. There's also a coffee and cake shack and an ice cream parlour if you want pudding.

Is parking free?

Yes, free all day, with the car park closing at 5.30pm.

When is the park open?

10am to 5pm daily, running from 26 March to 1 November for the 2026 season. They may close early on particularly bad weather days.
