What it’s like
Meet, feed and walk alpacas on a harness, with a secure paddock if you've brought the dog too.
This one's about the alpacas. You get up close to feed them, and there's harness training so you can actually walk one round the farm rather than just look at it over a fence, which is the bit that'll stick in a kid's memory long after the visit. Staff talk you through alpaca care and behaviour as you go, so it's not just a quick pat and photo, there's some proper handling involved.
It's dog friendly, with a secure paddock set aside for exercising your own dog, so this works as a two-in-one outing if you've got a dog and kids both after a morning out. The on-site café or bar does food, and homemade pizzas turn up during special events, which is worth timing a visit around if pizza is the kind of bribe that gets everyone in the car without a fuss.
Office hours run Monday to Saturday, 9am to 7pm, though that's their admin line rather than necessarily when the alpacas are out and about. There's parking and toilets on site, so the basics are covered without much fuss.
