What it’s like
A big industrial gig venue in Manchester where you book a specific show rather than just turning up.
This is a gig venue first, so what's on decides whether it's a fit for your family at all. There's no soft play or activity trail here, just a proper live music warehouse, level access into most of the main auditoriums and a lift up to a first floor viewing area if you need it. Check who's playing before you commit to anything.
The building dates from the early 1900s and it shows in places. Wheelchair spaces are limited and given out first come first served rather than allocated in advance, so if that's a factor for you it's worth sorting before the day rather than hoping for the best on arrival.
Getting there without a car is genuinely straightforward. Wharfside Metrolink station is about 500 metres off and trains run every six minutes, with Deansgate railway station just two stops further down the line. That matters here because there's no on-site parking at all, and event days bring road closures that make driving in a proper faff. Street parking bays and a drop-off point at the entrance are the fallback if you do bring the car.
Assistance dogs are welcome if you let the venue know when booking, and there are accessible toilets on site. Beyond that the venue keeps things simple: this is a place for a specific show, not a wander-in day out.
