What it’s like

An 18+ arcade bar with two-player cabinets and free-to-play consoles, except Sunday mornings when kids are let in.

This one's mostly for the grown-ups, so read the opening hours twice before you plan anything around it. NQ64 is an arcade bar with two-player cabinets like Mortal Kombat, Mario Kart and Time Crisis, plus dance mats and free-to-play consoles, but it's 18+ only for most of the week.

The exception is Shorty Sundays, 11am to 3pm, when under-18s are allowed in. Outside that window nobody under 18 gets past the door, full stop. So if you're picturing a family arcade trip, Sunday morning is your only shot.

Games run on tokens rather than cash: £9.50 gets you 15, £13 gets you 25, and each play costs one or two tokens depending on the machine. The consoles are free to play, though the site's pretty upfront that they'd rather you bought a drink while you're at it. There's no lift or stairlift here, it's up a flight of stairs, so it won't work if anyone in your group needs step-free access.

If you're after a big group booking, there are party packages too, Silver and Gold, both bundling tokens and drinks with free console access thrown in. Worth knowing those exist even outside the family window, in case you're planning something separate for the grown-ups later.
