What it’s like
A social club with bingo nights, pool tables and a concert room you can hire for a party or a wake.
Bingo and pool tables are the regular draw here, the sort of low-key night out where nobody's dressed up and the drinks aren't dressed up either. There's on-site food and a cafe, so you're not relying on a bag of crisps to get you through a few games.
The bigger use of the place is the hire. The concert room goes out for birthdays, weddings, retirements, fundraisers, corporate events, funerals and office parties, which is a proper spread of occasions for one room to cover. Party rooms are available too, so a kids' birthday or a work do can run alongside whatever else is on that day.
The one catch worth knowing before you plan around it: the concert room can't be hired on Thursday evenings, Saturday evenings or Sunday afternoons. Those slots are presumably kept for club nights, so if you want the room for a Saturday night bash you'll need to pick a different day.
