Newcastle Castle is the Norman keep and Black Gate that gave the city its name. Climb the keep for Quayside views, explore the Black Gate displays, then wander the old town streets around it.

Tickets are annual passes - buy once and come back for a year. Summer open daily 10am-5pm (last entry 4pm); winter closed Tue-Wed. Soft Play N - this is stairs, stone and history.

Central Newcastle, short walk from Monument Metro. No on-site parking.
