The National Railway Museum is the free York indoor plan when you need engines at kid eye-level and enough space to roam. Station Hall and the Great Hall do the heavy lifting; Wonderlab is optional paid.
Soft Play is N - this is trains, not soft play. Donations welcome. Miniature railway runs when weather and staffing allow.
Daily 10:00-17:00 on Leeman Road. Short walk or park-and-ride from York station.
