What it’s like

Free to walk in, then pay by wristband or Fun Points for the rides, bowling, soft play and Amazonia's tropical animals.

There's no entry fee here, which is the first thing worth knowing. You wander in for nothing and only pay for what you actually use, whether that's the outdoor rides like Freak Out, Twister and the Walk The Plank Sky Trail, a game of ten-pin bowling at Cosmic Bowl, or a warm-up in the tropical house at Amazonia among the exotic animals and the animal handling sessions. It's a different way of doing a theme park day, and it means you can pitch your spend to however long you've got rather than committing to one big ticket at the gate.

How you pay takes a bit of working out. Outdoor rides run on a wristband system or on Fun Points, which are worth £1 each and can be topped up with bonus points if you buy them online rather than on the day. Those Fun Points also cover Amazonia, the adventure golf, Krazy Congo soft play, Cosmic Bowl and most of the food outlets, so once you've loaded a card it works across the whole site. There's an adult and toddler wristband too, for under-1.1 metre riders paired with an adult, which is a nice touch if you've got a mixed-age group and don't want everyone kitted out the same.

Height and weight restrictions apply across all the rides, so it's worth having a rough plan for what a smaller child can actually go on before you get carried away at the ticket office. Cosmic Bowl has its own hours, running later on Fridays and Saturdays, and under-18s can't be there unaccompanied after 6pm. Amazonia's hours shrink right down from September to January, so a winter visit is really more about the tropical house and soft play than the big outdoor rides.

Food is spread across several spots, from Monterey Jacks for burgers and pizza to the Bistro @ The Loch for something lighter, plus a Beer Garden and Sports Bar if the grown-ups fancy a sit down while the kids queue for another go. Parking's free at both the front and rear, and there are birthday party packages at Cosmic Bowl, Amazonia and Krazy Congo if you're planning that kind of visit.

Plan your visit

Is there an entry fee?

No, walking in is free. You only pay for the rides, bowling, Amazonia or soft play once you're inside.

How do you actually pay for rides?

Either an all-day wristband for the outside rides or Fun Points loaded onto a card, at £1 a point. Buying Fun Points online gets you bonus points free, buying on site does not.

Do Fun Points cover everything?

Paid Fun Points work for outdoor rides, the arcade, Amazonia, adventure golf, Krazy Congo and Cosmic Bowl, plus most food outlets. Free bonus points are outdoor rides only.

Are there height or weight limits on the rides?

They apply across all the rides and are listed by ride on their website, so check before your child sets their heart on one.

Is there a toddler option for the wristbands?

There's an adult and toddler wristband covering one adult and one under-1.1 metre child riding together all day.

What is there for younger kids in winter?

Amazonia's hours cut right back from September to January, roughly 11 to 4 on weekdays and 10 to 5 at weekends, so it's more of a soft play and tropical house visit than a big rides day.

What about parking?

Free parking at both the front and rear of the park.

Is there anywhere to eat?

Several outlets, from Monterey Jacks for burgers and pizza to the Bistro @ The Loch, plus a Beer Garden and Sports Bar for the adults.

Can we book a birthday party?

At Cosmic Bowl, Amazonia or Krazy Congo, with packages covering food, the activity, wristband, party bags and invitations. Cosmic Bowl junior parties start from £12.95 a guest.

Is it wheelchair accessible?

Most rides are wheelchair accessible and carers get a free wristband on the day if you present valid carer ID.

Can we bring the dog?

Only assistance dogs, and they can't be left unattended or go on rides. Other dogs aren't allowed on site.

What time is last entry?

Half an hour before closing, so check the hours for the day you're going before you set off.
