What it’s like

Craft workshops where you make your own mosaic plaque, stone art or a Powertex sculpture from recycled bottles, over two to four hours.

This is a workshop, not a drop-in craft table. You book onto a specific project, sit down with the materials laid out, and leave with something you made yourself, whether that's a mosaic number plaque for the front door or a Powertex sculpture built up over an old bottle or toilet roll tube. The recycled base for the sculptures is a nice touch if you like the idea of turning rubbish into something you'd actually display.

The workshops run from £40 up to £80, and the price tends to track how fiddly the project is. The Mosaic Number Plaque at £40 is the cheapest way in, while the Whimsical Forest Lady at £80 is clearly the one to save for when you fancy losing an afternoon to something more involved. Sessions run two to four hours depending on what you've picked, so this isn't a quick hour out, it's a proper sit-down session.

They run Tuesday to Saturday with some Sundays, starting from 10am, and you'll need to book ahead as there's no just turning up. Worth deciding in advance which project you want, since the time and cost vary a fair bit between a mosaic panel and something like the Embrace the Earth workshop at £60.
