What it’s like
A mini indoor town where kids run the supermarket, fire station and vet surgery, plus a soft play frame to burn energy on.
The big draw here is the mini town. Your kids clock in at a supermarket, fire station, beauty salon, hospital, vet surgery, police station and even a disco, driving toy cars between the lot and having a go on the theatre stage when they fancy a change of scene. There's a construction site to work on too, and a soft play frame if they just want to climb rather than pretend to be a paramedic. It suits toddlers right up to kids around 7 or 8, with the site saying under-tens generally, though over-tens are counted as adults and don't get to play.
Everything runs on booked sessions, and they mean it. Arrive more than five minutes early and you'll be waiting outside, since you can't get into the building or the café before your slot starts. That same tightness works against you at the other end too, the café shuts for food a good 20 minutes before the session finishes, so don't plan on a leisurely coffee afterwards. Socks are compulsory, and if you haven't booked, especially at weekends or in the school holidays, you may just get turned away at the door.
Little ones under 3 need an adult with them in the role play area, since some of the props are small enough to be a choking risk, and non-walkers or babies under 6 months can only come if there's a steady walker booked alongside them. There's a small area set aside for the under-2s as well. Buggies have to stay out of the imaginative play zones, the one exception being wheelchairs, which are allowed in and the building has disabled parking plus staff on hand to help, even if the doors themselves aren't automatic.
There's a dedicated car park right by the building, so a wet day in Cowdenbeath doesn't mean a soggy walk in. The café does breakfast, lunch and snacks during opening hours, and if you're thinking of a party, exclusive hire runs Friday to Sunday evenings for £395 covering up to 20 children, with extra kids at £12.50 each.

Plan your visit
How much does it cost and do we need to book?
You do need to book in advance through their online system, and sessions can fill up completely with no walk-in space left. Turning up unbooked, especially at weekends or during school holidays, risks being turned away.
What ages is it good for?
It's aimed at toddlers up to around 7 or 8, with under-tens generally welcome. Anyone 10 or above is classed as an adult and can't play in the areas.
Can I bring a baby or a non-walker?
Babies under 6 months or any non-walker can only come along if there's a steady walker also booked in with them. There's a small area set aside for under-2s too.
Is there parking?
Yes, a dedicated car park right next to the building, with disabled spaces as well.
Can we bring the buggy in?
Prams and buggies aren't allowed in the imaginative play areas. Wheelchairs are the only exception.
Is it wheelchair accessible?
Wheelchairs are allowed into the imaginative play area and there's disabled parking, though the doors aren't automatic. It's an older building so it's not perfect, but they say they've done their best.
Can we grab food after our session?
Not really, the café closes for food at least 20 minutes before each session ends so they can reset for the next group.
How early should we arrive?
Don't turn up more than five minutes early, since you won't be let into the building or the café before your session starts.
Do you do birthday parties?
Exclusive hire runs Friday to Sunday evenings, £395 for up to 20 children and £12.50 for each additional child.
