What it’s like
Role-play zones like a shop, vet, bakery, salon and emergency services, plus a sensory room for SEN kit.
This one skips the usual soft play frame and slide setup in favour of themed rooms your kids actually act things out in. There's a shop, a vet, a bakery, a salon and an emergency services zone, so a four-year-old can spend the whole visit "working" the till or bandaging a teddy rather than queuing for a slide. It suits babies right up to around seven or eight, though the younger end will probably gravitate to the sensory and imaginative bits while the older ones get stuck into the storytelling side of it.
The sensory room is worth knowing about even if you're not there for it specifically. It's kitted out with specialist SEN equipment and the venue describes itself as sensory friendly, which matters if a normal soft play visit is usually a write-off for you.
The café does proper food rather than just crisps and squash, jacket potatoes, paninis, toasties, fresh salads, and milkshakes alongside the usual hot drinks, so you can genuinely make a lunch of it rather than grabbing a snack and leaving.
Birthday parties run as private two-hour sessions, but here's the faff: you can't book them online. You have to phone up or speak to someone in person, and because spaces are limited they book up fast for weekends and school holidays, so don't leave it to the last minute if you want a Saturday slot.
