What it’s like
Kitted-out laser tag arena with a proper briefing and scorecards to compare, plus a glow-in-the-dark mini golf course to fill the rest of the visit.
The main event is the arena: a briefing, kitting up in the vests, then a 15-minute game against up to 33 other players split into teams. Door to score it's about 25 to 30 minutes all in, and sessions start every 20 minutes, so there isn't much hanging about once you're through the door. Afterwards the kids get to see their Zappix photos and argue over the scorecards, which is honestly half the fun for anyone under ten.
There's 4D Golf too, a glow-in-the-dark course, which is a decent way to fill an hour either side of a game without needing to book a second session. Six years old is the minimum to play, though the site says a duty supervisor can sometimes let a five-year-old in with a parent watching, and that can't be booked ahead so don't rely on it.
Prices creep up on Fridays through Sundays, £9.25 for one game midweek versus £10.50 at the weekend, and the three-game Epic-Mission runs £19.25 to £20.50 depending on the day. You can turn up on spec but places aren't guaranteed without booking first, which feels like a trap for anyone who fancies a spontaneous Saturday session. Parking isn't a worry at least, with 1,400 free spaces on site and another 472 in the overflow just over the footbridge.
Parties need a minimum of six people and a week's notice, so this isn't one you can sort the night before. Basic parties run about an hour with two games, bags and chips; go Ultra or Galactic and you're looking at an hour and a half with pizza, glow paint and all the photo extras thrown in. Arenas are sometimes shared with other groups unless you specifically ask about exclusive use, worth knowing if you were picturing a private game.

Plan your visit
How much does it cost?
One game is £9.25 Monday to Thursday, £10.50 Friday to Sunday. Three games (Epic-Mission) is £19.25 midweek or £20.50 at the weekend.
Do we need to book?
You can walk up but your place isn't guaranteed, so booking ahead is the safer bet, especially at weekends.
How old do kids need to be?
Six is the minimum age to play. A five-year-old might occasionally be allowed in with a parent watching, but that's down to the duty supervisor on the day and can't be booked in advance.
How long does a session actually take?
About 25 to 30 minutes door to score, including the briefing, kitting up and a 15-minute game. New sessions start every 20 minutes.
Will we get the arena to ourselves?
Not automatically, you might be playing alongside other groups depending on how busy it is. Exclusive use of the arena can be arranged if you ask the team.
What's included in a birthday party?
Basic Party is £17 to £18 a head for two games, bags, squash and chips, lasting about an hour. Ultra and Galactic parties add pizza, glow paint and photo extras and run about an hour and a half, at £18 and £22 a head.
Is there a minimum number for parties?
Yes, six people minimum, and they want seven days' notice to book one in.
Is there parking?
1,400 free spaces on site plus 472 more in an overflow car park, a one-minute walk over a footbridge.
Is it wheelchair accessible?
Reception, the briefing room and kit-up areas are wheelchair accessible, and wheelchair users can play and use most of the other facilities. There are some restrictions on site, so it's not entirely barrier-free.
What are the opening hours?
Monday to Thursday it's midday to 9.30pm, Friday midday to 10.30pm, and weekends from 10am. During school holidays and bank holidays it opens an hour earlier on weekdays, at 11am.
Can parents watch?
There's a free guided tour for first-timers, and parents can either be taken inside to watch the game or wait in reception with a hot drink, watching the live score-screen and photos come through.
