What it’s like

Paintball across eight outdoor zones, with a lightweight Mini Paintball option for ages 7 to 10.

This is proper paintball, not a soft-play version of it. Kids and adults get kitted out with a Delta Force marker and sent into one of eight game zones, with scenarios like storming a bunker after some sort of apocalypse or attacking castle walls. From 10 it's standard full-size equipment; ages 7 to 10 use the Mini Paintball setup, which is a lighter, spring-loaded marker with smaller paintballs, so a seven-year-old isn't lugging round the same kit as a grown adult.

It's outdoor, in all weathers, and they're upfront that muddy conditions are just part of it. Pack wellies and old clothes rather than anything you care about. Entry plus kit is £9.99, then you're paying for paintballs on top, around £7.99 for 100, or one of the bundled packs if you know you'll get through more. As a rule of thumb they reckon on 200 paintballs per zone, which adds up fast if there's a keen shot in your group.

Booking has to be done in advance, not just a nice-to-have but a genuine requirement, and they want 10 to 14 days' notice ideally since weekends sell out. Everyone playing has to fill in an online registration form before arriving, and under-16s need it signed by a parent. Worth doing this the night before rather than scrambling in the car park, especially since arriving early might just mean waiting around until the centre's ready anyway.

For a birthday, parties start from £9.99 a head with the Young Gunz packages scaled up by paintball count, and the birthday child gets a Sergeant armband with extra lives and an upgraded sniper barrel, which is the kind of detail that'll make them insufferable for the rest of the week. One thing to flag: if someone in your group doesn't show, their paintballs and payment are forfeited, not refunded, though it can sit as credit for another day.

What age can kids start playing?

From 7, using the Mini Paintball setup with lighter spring-loaded markers and smaller paintballs. Standard full-size paintball kicks in from age 10.

How much does it cost?

Entry plus kit is £9.99, then paintballs are extra, around £7.99 for 100. There are bundled packs too, the Recruit, Commando and Black Ops packs, if you want more paintballs sorted upfront.

Do we need to book ahead?

Yes, and they mean it. Aim for 10 to 14 days' notice, especially for a weekend, since those sell out.

Is there a registration form to fill in?

Every player fills one out online before arriving. Under-16s need a parent or guardian to sign it.

What happens if someone doesn't turn up?

What's the birthday party option?

Does it run in bad weather?

It's open 7 days a week, 364 days a year, and runs in almost all weather. Expect mud, it's genuinely part of the experience.

How many paintballs will we need?

They suggest roughly 200 per game zone as a starting point, though it depends how trigger-happy your group is. You can always buy more during the session.
