Laser Station Fountain Park

What it’s like

Multi-level laser tag arenas plus dodgems and arcade machines, with games priced by the round rather than the hour.

The laser tag arena is built over multiple levels, so it's not just running down one corridor shooting at people, there are ramps and different heights to duck behind. On top of that there's a dodgem ride and arcade machines, which is handy if one kid wants to go again while another's had enough.

Pricing is per game rather than per hour, which actually works in your favour if you've got a mixed group: £7.99 for one game, £12.99 for two, £14.99 for three. That third game only costs you £2 more than the second, so if you're going at all, three games is the obvious call rather than stopping at two.

Birthday parties get their own structure. The Startrooper party is £17.99 a head and the Ultimate Party is £22, both bundling in the laser games with food and a party host so you're not running the show yourself. At £22 a head for a bigger group that adds up fast, but it does mean you turn up and someone else handles the party bags and the timings.

There's food on site.
