What it’s like

One-to-one lessons in singing, guitar, drums, piano, ukulele or music theory, taught in half-hour slots from age four upwards.

This is a lesson studio rather than a class you sit in on, so it's your child (or you, if you fancy learning guitar yourself) working one-to-one with a teacher for thirty minutes at a time. The list covers singing, drums, keyboard and piano, guitar, ukulele and music theory, plus stage confidence training if the end goal is getting up and performing rather than just playing at home.

Under-16s pay £19 for a half hour, adults £20. New starters pay as they go for the first three sessions, which is a decent way to find out if your seven-year-old actually wants to stick with the drums before you commit to anything longer. After that it switches to monthly invoicing in advance, which is the more usual way these places run but does mean booking in a proper course of lessons rather than dipping in and out.

Weekday slots run from 2pm to 7.30pm. There's free parking on site, which matters more than it sounds when you're doing a weekly drop-off and don't want to be circling the block.

Four seems to be the starting point for lessons here, and stage confidence training is the one to keep an eye on if your child's the type who'll happily sing in the kitchen but goes quiet the second there's an audience. Birthday parties are on the list too, which is a nice sideways use of a music studio if you're after something different from the usual soft play do.
