Brighton
What it’s like
Free contemporary art gallery with a bar serving craft coffee and cocktails, open late Fridays and Saturdays.
This is a browsing sort of visit rather than a hands-on one: contemporary art from local and international artists, exhibitions and events changing through the year, and a shop selling artist books, zines and merchandise if you want to take something home. There's no ticket price, which makes it an easy one to fold into a wander around Brighton without committing to a plan.
The bar is doing more than filling a gap. Craft coffee in the day, but it shifts into cocktails, champagne and wine too, and with Friday and Saturday opening until 10pm this reads like a gallery that expects you to stay for a drink rather than nip in and out. Thursdays run to 7pm, the rest of the week closes at 6pm, and Sundays wrap up at 5pm.
There's no booking link listed, so it looks like you can just turn up during opening hours. Worth knowing this is pitched more at browsing art and having a drink than at anything a small child would find gripping.
