What it’s like

A petting barn party where kids meet ponies, donkeys and alpacas, then play games with them in a decorated room.

This one's built entirely around birthday parties. You get two hours: a meet and greet in the petting barn with ponies, a donkey, an alpaca and even a unicorn (their word for it, and kids won't argue), then party games with the animals, a decorated room, refreshments and a party bag to take home. It's a proper animal-first party rather than a farm visit with a party bolted on.

At £20 a child with a minimum of ten kids, that's £200 before you've even thought about a cake, so it suits a proper group booking rather than a small gathering. The age guide starts at 4, which makes sense once you picture a two-year-old trying to play party games next to a donkey.

There's indoor seating and food on site. Worth flagging that they can't guarantee the food is free from allergens, so if anyone in the group has a food allergy, it's the one thing to sort before the day rather than on it.

Two hours is a decent chunk of time for this kind of party. It's long enough for the animal meet and greet to not feel rushed, and long enough that by the end the games have properly worn everyone out, in a good way.

Plan your visit

How much does a party cost?

£20 per child, with a minimum of 10 children, so it works out at £200 for the group. That covers the two-hour session, meet and greet, games, the decorated room, refreshments and a party bag.

What age is it suitable for?

The age guide starts at 4. Younger than that and the animal games probably won't hold their attention, or they might hold the donkey's.

What actually happens at the party?

A meet and greet with the animals in the petting barn, including ponies, a donkey, an alpaca and a unicorn, followed by party games with the ponies. You get a decorated party room, refreshments and a party bag.

Is there food, and is it allergy friendly?

There's on site food and indoor seating for the party. They can't guarantee it's free from ingredients that affect food allergies, so mention any allergies in the group beforehand.
