What it’s like

Free city farm in Ouseburn with animals, Cafe Beam and weekend animal sessions - donations welcome.

Ouseburn Farm is the free city farm in the Ouseburn valley - goats, sheep, cows, pigs, small animals and a cafe. Open Tue-Sun 10am-3pm in term time (Mondays in school holidays too).

You do not need to book for a general visit. Animal petting is limited on walk-up visits; book Farmers Club or Caring for Critters if the kids want hands-on time.

Donations keep the charity running. Easy Newcastle family half-day without a ticket queue.

How do we find it?

There is some uneven ground in the garden but most paths are fully accessible. Assistance dogs are welcome. Parking for disabled visitors with a blue badge is available at the rear of the farm, with additional reserved bays close by. For other visitors, there is limited parking under Byker Bridge and along Lime Street. A 57 space car park is available over the little foot bridge on Foundry Lane, NE6 1LH, accessed from Byker Bank. Additional parking can be found a short walk away on Stepney Road, Ford Street, Albion Row and Spiller's Car Park.

    On-site cafe run in partnership with Smile for Life Charity, open Tuesday to Sunday 10am-3pm, last food orders 2pm. Dogs are welcome here.

    Hireable event space accommodating up to 30 people theatre style or 20 boardroom style, with chairs, tables and a big-screen TV, available for meetings, parties, weddings and other occasions.

  • Farm Shop

    Shop selling duck, chicken and pig food in refillable tins (£1 refund available) plus other goods.
