What it’s like

Kids learn actual circus skills here, from aerial hoop and trapeze to diabolo and stilts, with classes split by age.

This isn't soft play with a circus theme bolted on. Circus Minis (4-7) get proper hand-held kit like diabolo, spinning plates and juggling, plus balancing gear like stilts, while Youth Circus (7-17) moves into aerial hoop, trapeze and silks. It's genuine skills training, with beginners starting close to the floor on a crash mat and a tutor spotting them, which is reassuring if you're picturing your seven-year-old dangling from the ceiling on day one.

Parents can stay for Circus Minis and Spectrum sessions, but for the older groups it's drop-off only and no spectators once class starts. That's a fair trade if it means your teenager isn't showing off for an audience, but plan your hour accordingly if you were hoping to watch.

Booking ahead is strongly recommended rather than optional in practice, and turning up late is a real risk since they won't admit you once a class has started for safety reasons. The building has two steps at the main entrance, though there's a step-free side door and an accessible toilet, so it's manageable with a wheelchair or buggy if you use the right door.

Parking is limited right outside, with street parking as the backup, and the 18 and 18a buses stop two minutes away if public transport suits you better. Birthday parties run here too, with a classic skills party at ninety minutes for up to twenty kids, or an aerial workshop option for the slightly older ones who fancy a go on the hoop.
