Circus & Street Performance in Sheffield

If your kids fancy having a go rather than just watching, Greentop Community Circus Centre is the place, a couple of miles out from the centre, with classes split by age from 4 up to 25 covering aerial hoop, trapeze, diabolo and stilts. For watching rather than doing, Sheffield City Hall is right in the middle of town and brings in touring circus and comedy shows, though be ready for the bag checks and queues of a big gig night. Don Valley Bowl, also a short way out, is not circus as such but is free to use for skating and running about, handy if you need a no-cost stop either side of a show. For younger children, Greentop's lower age bands and City Hall's seated shows work better than a longer trip. Older kids who can sit still for a story might enjoy a drive out to Huddersfield for High Jinx Magic illusion and Circus show, built for ages 5 and up and full of grand illusions. Booking ahead matters for Greentop, and City Hall is card only on the door.
