What it’s like
Treetop nets, giant slides and bouncy platforms for younger climbers, with a day pass that lets you come and go.
This is the junior version of Go Ape, built for kids aged 3 to 11 rather than the full zip wire course. They're up in the trees bouncing across giant nets, sliding down super slides and clambering over inflatable balls strung between the trunks. It's all supervised play rather than harnessed climbing, so smaller kids can have a proper go without you white-knuckling it below.
£22.95 a child is the price, and it stings a bit for what's essentially a big net structure, though the day pass softens that. It lets you come and go as many times as you like in one day, so you can do a loop, have lunch, and go back for another go rather than feeling rushed. One adult goes free for every child under 6, which helps if you're outnumbered.
Leave the bumbags and backpacks in the car, they're not allowed on the course, and the cabin storage isn't secure so don't risk anything valuable. There's a café on site for hot food and snacks, and picnic benches dotted around the forest if you'd rather bring your own. The course stays open through rain, wind and mud, and only shuts for thick ice, thunderstorms or gales, so a grey forecast shouldn't put you off.
Parking is run by Forestry England and you pay on your way back to the car rather than upfront, so factor that into the day. The forest paths get narrow and uneven if you're watching rather than climbing, worth knowing if you've got a buggy or a non-climbing sibling in tow.

Plan your visit
How much does it cost?
£22.95 per child aged 3 to 11. One adult goes free for every child under 6.
Do we need to book?
Advance booking is recommended, though walk-ins might get in if there's space. Weekends and holidays are the ones to book ahead for.
How long do we get?
It's a day pass, so you can come and go as many times as you like rather than being timed to one session.
What age is it suitable for?
It's aimed at 3 to 11 year olds, with nets, slides and inflatable balls rather than the harnessed high ropes course.
What happens if it rains?
It stays open through rain and wind, and the trees give some shelter anyway. It only closes for thick ice, thunderstorms or gales.
Is there parking?
Yes, the car park is run by Forestry England and you pay when you get back to your car after your visit.
Can we bring bags or bumbags?
They're not allowed on the course as they can interfere with the equipment. Storage at the cabin isn't secure, so it's best to leave valuables in the car.
Is there food on site?
There's a café serving hot food, drinks and snacks, and picnic benches around the forest if you bring your own.
Are dogs allowed?
Well-behaved dogs can come along but not onto the course itself, so you'll need someone free to mind them. The café has dog-friendly areas.
Is it accessible for wheelchairs or pushchairs?
The forest and car park are wheelchair accessible, and the supervising area mostly is too. Forest paths can get narrow and uneven though, especially if you're watching the Treetop Challenge rather than climbing.
Can we book a birthday party?
Parties can be booked online, and party bags are £5.95 each. For a forest shelter you'll need to call or email ahead.
Where are the toilets?
They're in the Forestry England visitor centre opposite the cabin, about 3 minutes away, so it's worth using them before you start.
