What it’s like
Outdoor after-school sessions with archery, den building and fire lighting, running 3pm to 5:45pm.
This is the after-school run for kids who'd rather be in the woods than in front of a screen. Sessions run from 3pm to 5:45pm and the whole thing is outdoors: archery, den building, and actual fire lighting feature alongside woodland adventures and free play. There's indoor space too for games and crafts if the weather turns properly grim, but the woodland stuff is clearly the main event here.
Booking is where you need to pay attention. Once a session's booked, that's it, you can't rebook unless you do it within 24 hours of the original booking. Same goes for refunds: cancel or no-show outside that 24-hour window and you don't get your money back. It's a fair way for a small outdoor provider to run things, but it does mean you want to be fairly sure of your plans before you click confirm.
The same team also runs Gruffalo-themed birthday parties out of a field behind West End Outdoors in Bearsden, in tents under the open sky, with room for up to 16 including the birthday child. Go over 8 and they bring in an extra instructor for an added cost. These parties go ahead in the rain, so puddle suits and wellies for the kids and boots for the grown-ups in winter.
There are also stand up paddleboard parties on offer, again for groups over 8 with an extra instructor if you want to grow the numbers, and every child gets a buoyancy aid so nobody needs to already swim. Like the Gruffalo parties, these run whatever the forecast throws at you.

What happens in an after-school session?
Woodland adventures, archery, den building and building fires, plus indoor games, crafts and free play. Sessions run 3pm to 5:45pm.
Can we rebook if we can't make our session?
Only if you rebook within 24 hours of making the original booking. After that window it's not possible.
Do we get a refund if we cancel?
Only within the first 24 hours after booking. Cancel or no-show after that and there's no refund.
Where do the Gruffalo birthday parties happen?
In a field behind West End Outdoors in Bearsden. You check in at West End Outdoors first, then head out to the tents for the party itself.
How many kids can come to a party?
Gruffalo parties take up to 16 including the birthday child, and SUP parties can go beyond 8 with an extra instructor booked in for an added cost.
Will parties still run if it's raining?
Both the Gruffalo parties and the SUP parties go ahead in the rain. Pack puddle suits, wellies and waterproof boots for the grown-ups in the colder months.
