What it’s like
A pay-as-you-go ride park with coasters, dodgems and mini golf, plus a Christmas Adventure with Santa in season.
Rides run on a credit system here rather than one flat entry fee. You buy a Fun Pass for a £1 refundable deposit, then load it up with credits and spend them on whatever your kids fancy, a pound a go on individual rides or a chunkier top-up if you know you're in for the day. It means you can let a toddler have three goes on something gentle and leave your teenager to chase the bigger coasters, without either of you paying for rides nobody wanted.
The 18-hole mini golf and the arcade are the bits that eat an afternoon without you noticing, and the water rides are worth saving for last if you don't fancy a soggy walk round for the rest of the visit. Dodgems are still dodgems, and there's something reassuring about the fact they've never gone out of fashion. Ages run from about 2 up to 18, so a family with a big age gap between siblings should find enough to keep everyone busy rather than one kid trailing round bored.
Food-wise it's the Walker Café for proper sit-down snacks, an ice cream kiosk, and a burger van that turns up seasonally. Parking is at Doncaster Road or Museum, both paid through the RingGo app, and there are disabled spaces at both if you need them. Opening hours shift through the year between an 11am to 5pm standard day and a longer 10:30am to 5:30pm stretch, so it's not a fixed routine every week.
Come winter there's a separate Christmas Adventure ticket, a 90-minute guided experience with a Santa Express ride, meeting Santa, and a go on the Giant Snow Globe, plus unlimited rides and mini golf thrown in. That one needs booking for a specific time slot and you're asked to check in half an hour early, which is a bit more faff than turning up and buying a Fun Pass on the day.
