What it’s like

Outdoor summer pop-up at Meadowhall with water slides, a roller coaster and fairground rides for a whole afternoon out.

This is the one where the kids get properly wet on purpose. AquaSplash is the big draw, with mega aqua slides and water blaster battles, plus a pool kept for the 8-and-over crowd so the littler ones aren't getting bowled over. Anyone under 160cm can use the main slides, and every child needs an adult with them in the water area, so it's not a drop-off-and-wander job.

Away from the water there's a roller coaster, waltzers and the usual fairground rattle for kids who want a thrill, and teacups and swings for the ones who don't. There's a gem mining pit and sandcastle building too, plus live shows and character meet and greets scattered through the day, so a toddler and a ten-year-old can both find their bit. Ages start from newborn, though the roller coaster and slides are obviously more for the walking-and-talking end of that range.

It only runs from 17th July to 31st August, so this isn't a year-round outing, it's a summer holiday one. Booking online is recommended, especially for AquaSplash sessions which fill up on warm days, though they say walk-ins are welcome if there's space. Open from noon to 9pm daily, which is late enough for an after-tea visit if the mornings are booked up elsewhere.

Food comes from the Food Village, loaded fries, smash burgers, hot dogs and soft serve among other things, and you can bring your own picnic too, just not into AquaSplash itself. Parking is free at Meadowhall's Orange Car Park, which is the easiest way in. The £10 Unlimited Access Summer Pass on your first visit is worth a look if you think you'll be back more than once, since it gets you in free for the rest of the season plus 10% off rides and food.

Plan your visit

Do we need to book?

Booking online is recommended, especially in the summer holidays and for AquaSplash sessions which fill up on warm days. Walk-ins are welcome if there's space.

Is it OK for a toddler?

There's plenty for younger ones, teacups, swings, sandcastle building and a gem mining pit. The water slides and one of the pools are for over 160cm and 8-and-over respectively, so littlest ones stick to the fairground rides.

What's the AquaSplash rule I should know?

Every child needs an adult with them in the water, kids over 160cm can't use the slides, and one pool is 8-and-over only. You also can't take your own food or drink in there.

What are the opening times?

Noon until 9pm every day, but only from 17th July to 31st August.

Is there parking?

Free parking at Meadowhall, thousands of spaces, with the Orange Car Park giving the easiest access.

Can we bring a picnic?

Yes, own food and drink is fine in the general area. Just leave it outside AquaSplash.

What food is there on site?

The Food Village does loaded fries, smash burgers, gourmet hot dogs, kids packed lunches, soft serve and churros.

Is there a discount if we're going more than once?

The Unlimited Access Summer Pass is £10 on your first visit and gets you unlimited entry for the rest of the season, plus 10% off rides, food and drink.
