What it’s like

Wall-to-wall trampolines, a foam pit and a climbing tower for kids who want to bounce, not just watch telly on a wet Saturday.

The main arena is trampolines end to end, with a foam pit to launch into and an obstacle course strung across the tower for the ones who'd rather climb than bounce. There's soft play too, plus a Cyber Tower and a climbing wall, so a session isn't just an hour of jumping until someone's dizzy.

Pricing runs on session length rather than one flat fee. A standard hour is £14, two hours is £19, and under-fives get a knocked-down rate at £9 or £14. Family Time works out cheaper if there's a few of you, £55 on weekdays or £65 at weekends, and there's a dedicated Toddler Time at £10 a head for the smaller ones who'd get flattened by the big kids' bouncing. Grip socks are compulsory, so factor that into what you're paying even if it isn't broken out separately here.

You don't have to book, but the site is upfront that the arena sells out often, and turning up on spec at a weekend feels like a gamble. Whatever session you're on, get there half an hour early for check-in, which eats into your time if you cut it fine. Term time hours are shorter than school holidays, so check which one you're going on before you plan the rest of the day around it.

Birthday parties get their own room, with pizza, chips and cordial thrown in from £18 a head, and the Gold and Diamond packages give the birthday child a free return visit. If it's raining and you need somewhere for a couple of hours that isn't soft play with a ball pond, this does the job, just don't expect a quiet corner to hide in with a coffee while they burn energy off elsewhere.

Plan your visit

How much does it cost?

Sessions start around £6 and a standard hour is £14, or £9 for under-fives. Two hours is £19, and Family Time is £55 on weekdays or £65 at weekends.

Do we need to book?

You don't have to, but they say the arena often sells out, so booking ahead is the only way to guarantee a spot.

What time should we arrive?

Thirty minutes before your session starts, for check-in. Turn up late and you're eating into your own hour.

Is there a toddler session?

Yes, Toddler Time is £10 a ticket, with an extra £10 for another adult or toddler joining in.

What age is it suitable for?

They say Flip Out suits all ages, though some attractions have their own height or age restrictions worth checking on the day.

Is there parking?

There's on-site parking.

Do I need my own socks?

You have to wear Flip Out grip socks to bounce, so budget for those if you don't already own a pair.

Can I just watch and not bounce?

You're welcome to come and watch without taking part.

Do I need to sign a waiver?

Every guest needs a signed waiver. If you're 12 to 18, a parent or guardian has to fill it out, though they don't need to be there in person.

Can I cancel a booking?

You get a 24-hour window from booking for a full refund. After that it's a transfer to another date rather than your money back.

Do you do birthday parties?

Packages start at £18 a head with a private party room and food included, pizza, chips, cordial and a sweet treat. The Gold and Diamond packages throw in a free return pass for the birthday child.

What are the opening hours?

Term time it's roughly 10.30am to 7pm on weekdays, with a later finish on Fridays and Saturdays. School holidays open earlier, from 9.30am most days.
