What it’s like
A working farm turned adventure park with zip lines, a log flume, splash zone and animal barns to fill a whole day.
There's a lot going on here, and it isn't just tractors and sheep, though you get those too. Kids can bottle-feed lambs at the daily farm shows, then go straight from stroking a chinchilla in the Animal Encounters Barn to queuing for the Sky Fall ride or the Zip Line. The Devils Dyke Descent (an inflatable ring toboggan run) and the Jungle Flume log ride are the ones that get talked about on the way home, and the farm maze is worth doing early before legs get tired.
Younger children get their own slice of it too: a Toddlers Zip Line, pony rides, mini tractors and a Baby Sensory Room, plus indoor soft play in the Fun Fair barn and slide barn for when the weather turns. Splash Attack, the water zone, only runs May to September, and the same goes for the Jungle Flume and gemstone panning, so a winter visit means a different, quieter day out than a summer one.
Most families end up staying a full day or more, which makes sense once you see the list: Farm Adventure Golf, quad bikes, racing cars, the Farmy Assault Course, an Enchanted Wood walkway with hidden houses. Sky Fall's top level is for eight-plus, with a lower level from five, so it flexes across ages reasonably well without shutting anyone out entirely.
Food-wise there are five outlets, from the licensed Saddle Rooms Restaurant doing roasts to the Farmers Grill for burgers and kids' lunchboxes, and picnics are welcome in the outdoor areas or the indoor Ploughmans Picnic Barn if it's chucking it down. Parking's free, and booking ahead online saves £3 a ticket, though turning up on the day works fine too.
