What it’s like
Kids from four upwards can try Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai or boxing here, and the first week costs nothing to test out.
There's over 150 classes a week across Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai, boxing, wrestling, MMA and judo, and an extra floor of matted space so the timetable can run several things at once. Your four-year-old can start in the kids' classes; a teenager who fancies boxing can go straight into that instead. Classes run from 7am to 10pm Monday to Friday, which means evenings after school are genuinely on the table, and the weekend slots are mornings only, 8am to 2pm Saturday and 8am to 1pm Sunday.
The obvious way in is the 7-day free trial the site offers, with no commitment and nothing to cancel if it's not for your kid. That's the bit I'd use first. It also runs free lessons and programmes with local councils and schools, so it's worth asking whether your school is one of them before you sign anything.
Two catches worth knowing. There's no dedicated parking, just standard street parking on the surrounding roads, and Pritchard's Road is not the easiest place to circle. Lockers are in the male and female changing rooms along with showers, but you need to bring your own padlock and they empty the lockers nightly, so nothing stays overnight.
If you do join and later want out, cancellation is by email with one month's notice, unless you're still inside the trial week. Injuries can be frozen for a minimum of one month, also by email. No café or food outlet is mentioned, so plan to eat before or after.
