WHERE

What it’s like
A free woodland car park with a sculpture trail and valley views, plus picnic tables right by the cars.
You pull up, grab the picnic bag, and you're straight onto a sculpture discovery trail through the trees, the kind where you're spotting the next carved piece rather than just walking for the sake of it. There are walking trails beyond that too, with panoramic views over the valley that make the climb worth it once you're up there.
It's free entry and free parking, which is rare enough these days to mention twice. Picnic tables sit right next to the car park, so you don't have to lug the cool bag far if the little legs give out early. There's no café or shop on site, so whatever you bring is what you've got.
Worth knowing before you go: there's no staff on site. It's a straightforward, unstaffed spot rather than a manned attraction, which suits some days out better than others depending on how independent you're feeling.
