What it’s like
Free galleries and a print studio in the city centre, with a café to fall back on if the art doesn't hold their attention.
This is a proper gallery rather than a soft play with pictures on the wall, so it suits kids who'll happily wander round looking at prints rather than ones who need something to climb. Entry to the galleries, shop and café is free, and they're open every day except Monday, 10am to 6pm.
There's a working print studio on site too, running longer hours on Tuesday to Thursday (10am to 9pm) and shorter at the weekend (10am to 5:30pm). Whether that's something you can wander into with children in tow isn't spelled out, but it's worth knowing it's there if you fancy asking at the desk.
Buggies aren't a problem, there's a baby change and high chairs in the café, and dogs are welcome if you're bringing the whole household. There's no car park on site, though.
