What it’s like

Lanes with disco lights, laser quest, arcade games and a scrapyard golf course under one roof in Cardiff.

The bowling here comes with rainbow lighting rather than the usual strip lights, and once you've had a couple of frames there's plenty else to soak up the rest of the visit. Laser Quest is the obvious one to save for last since it needs a bit of energy, though it's worth knowing kids need to be 6 and at least 1.1m tall to play. There's also a scrapyard golf course, pool tables and an arcade with claw machines, racing games and air hockey, so a bowling trip can easily stretch into a couple of hours without anyone getting bored.

Prices shift depending on when you go. Weekdays are the cheap slot at £6 a game (Monday to Thursday all day, Friday until 5pm), climbing to £8 at weekends and £9 for an adult on a one-off game. A family game for four is £28, and if you've got a student in tow they bowl for £5. The After School Club deal, £8.95 for a game plus a kids meal between 3pm and 6pm on weekdays, is a decent shout if you're filling the after-school gap. Just be aware the weekday discount doesn't apply during school holidays, bank holidays or through December, which catches people out.

Sunday's got a couple of good angles too: £5 a game between 10am and midday, or unlimited bowling from 7pm for £10 a head with 20% off food and drink for the first hour. Food on site runs to pizzas, appetiser bites and sides, so nobody needs to leave hungry between games.

Birthday parties are catered for with party rooms and packages that include an hour of bowling, pizza, themed lanes and a goody bag with a free game voucher. One catch worth flagging: party payment is taken in full at the time of booking and it's non-refundable, so it's worth being sure of your date before you commit. Sensory-friendly sessions with dimmed lighting and reduced noise are available on request, and the venue is wheelchair accessible with accessible toilets and ramps.

Plan your visit

How much does bowling cost?

A single game is £6 on weekdays (Mon-Thu all day, Fri until 5pm), £8 at weekends, or £9 for an adult one-off game. Juniors pay £7 a game and students £5 with ID.

Do we need to book ahead?

Booking in advance secures the weekday discounted prices, and it's recommended for Sunday unlimited bowling since lanes fill up.

Is there a family deal?

There's a Family Game price of £28 for four people, one game each.

What's the deal with Laser Quest?

It's £10 combined with a game of bowling on weekdays, but there's a minimum age of 6 and a height requirement of 1.1m, so it won't suit younger siblings.

What food is on offer?

Pizzas run £10 to £11.75, with appetiser bites, fries and nachos alongside. Sunday between 7pm and 8pm there's 20% off food and drink.

Is it good for a toddler or younger child?

There's no toddler-specific bowling info here, though the arcade and scrapyard golf give younger ones something to do outside the lanes. Laser Quest is off limits under 6 or under 1.1m.

What are the opening hours?

Monday to Thursday 11am to 10pm, Friday 11am to 11pm, Saturday 10am to 11.30pm and Sunday 10am to 10.30pm.

Is there a cheap time to go?

Sunday mornings between 10am and midday it's £5 a game, and from 7pm on Sundays it's unlimited bowling for £10 a head.

Can we book a birthday party?

Yes, party packages include an hour of bowling, pizza, themed lanes and a goody bag with a free game voucher. Payment is taken in full at booking and isn't refundable.

Is the venue accessible?

There are ramps, accessible toilets and sensory-friendly sessions with dimmed lighting and reduced noise available on request. Carers or personal assistants can come free or at a discount.

How long does a visit usually take?

A couple of games plus a go on the arcade or scrapyard golf easily fills a couple of hours.

Are there discounts for students?

Students bowl for £5 a game or £10 for two games with valid ID.
