What it’s like

Weekly dance classes running from toddler ballet right up to teen street dance, with themed birthday parties thrown in too.

Ballet for the wobbly toddler stage, then proper classes from age four in a handful of styles once they can follow instructions without a meltdown. Older kids, up to eighteen, can go for street dance or stick with ballet, so it's one place you can keep coming back to as tastes change and knees get bendier.

The birthday parties are the bit worth flagging. They're themed dance parties with props like fairy wands, scarves and hula hoops, and the site says they'll personalise them, so a five-year-old obsessed with fairies isn't stuck with a generic disco. Younger siblings who aren't dancing get a play area to explore while the party runs, which saves you juggling a toddler and a cake at the same time.

There's a café and indoor seating if you're settling in to watch, and parking's free, which takes the sting out of a weekly class run. If you're not sure your child will take to it, there's a seven day free pass to try classes before you commit to anything, which is a decent way to test the water without paying upfront.
